Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation has filed to introduce a vehicle-level discount in its Connecticut auto program to improve its competitive position.
The proposed New to Plymouth Rock Vehicle Discount starts at 10% during the vehicle’s first year with the insurer, declining to 8%, 6%, 4% and 2% in subsequent years before ending after five years.
Eligibility depends on whether the vehicle has been listed on a Connecticut Plymouth Rock auto policy with the same named insured during the previous 12 months. Qualifying vehicles can be added at new business, renewal or midterm, including as replacement vehicles, making the discount available to existing customers as well.
Plymouth Rock cites similar discounts filed by GEICO, National General/Allstate and Liberty Mutual. The discount would apply to its Prime 2 and Prime 3 rating programs, which previously contained placeholder language that the company says had never been used.
The October 1 filing requests a December 1, 2026 effective date for new business and renewals. It remains submitted to the state, and the company reports no rate impact from the filing.
