The North River Insurance Company, part of Crum & Forster, has filed to withdraw its 24PetWatch pet insurance program in Vermont, ending its underwriting role for the product. The filing, submitted on October 23, 2025, seeks a December 15, 2025, withdrawal date.

A total of 123 policies with $62,660 in written premium are affected. Nonrenewals began on December 15, 2024, and will be completed by the requested withdrawal date. The company confirmed that all policyholders were or will be notified in accordance with state law.

The withdrawal follows a contractual agreement transferring the 24PetWatch book of business to Independence American Insurance Company, which now underwrites similar coverage under a previously approved filing. North River will continue to handle claims for dates of service prior to each policyholder’s nonrenewal.
