Mobility Data Analytics (MDA), the U.S. arm of Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance, has filed a new scoring model in Nevada: Class 7–8 Score 1.0, a telematics-based vehicle score designed for heavy commercial vehicles. Submitted August 25, 2025, the filing is not an insurance product but a rating tool insurers can license and incorporate into their own class plans.
The stated goal is straightforward: “better match rate to risk” for Class 7–8 vehicles. Insurers remain responsible for their own telematics programs, filings, and regulatory approvals. MDA’s role is that of a technology provider, supplying the model but not underwriting coverage.
The filing has no policyholder or premium impact. Instead, it provides insurers with a framework to integrate telematics scoring into pricing. MDA requested trade secret protection for “The Model” and related documentation.
