Harco National Insurance Company, part of IAT Group, filed to nonrenew its entire California commercial trucking book as the insurer exits the line due to profitability concerns. The withdrawal will begin with policies expiring October 1, 2026, and conclude by September 30, 2027.
According to the filing, the block includes 13 policies representing approximately $2.4 million in written premium as of May 5, 2026. The company stated it “is unable to continue writing Commercial Trucking business at a loss and has been unable to achieve actuarially adequate rates for this line of business” in California.
Harco said it is not requesting changes to its certificate of authority and may reevaluate reentry into the market in the future depending on conditions.
The filing was submitted on May 27, 2026, with a requested renewal effective date of October 1, 2026.
