COUNTRY Modernizes Inland Marine With System Overhaul

COUNTRY Mutual received approval in Washington for a broad form revision to its commercial inland marine product. The filing was submitted on March 17, 2026, with new business effective November 6, 2026 and renewals following on December 16, 2026.

The update spans core inland marine documentation, including new declarations, applications, and endorsements, alongside revised policy forms. Notably, the insurer is rolling out new AAIS-based forms such as a comprehensive fine arts coverage form and a tool floater endorsement, while replacing existing dealers coverage and common policy declaration forms.

The filing is also tied to COUNTRY’s implementation of a new commercial processing system, aimed at improving how policies are issued, managed, and serviced. The system upgrade is expected to streamline workflows, standardize documentation, and support faster, more efficient policy changes for agents and policyholders.

The revised fine arts coverage introduces more structured protections for high-value items like artwork, antiques, and collectibles, including coverage at temporary locations such as exhibitions or restoration sites. It also adds features such as diminished value coverage and limited protection for fraud-related losses and emergency removal.

In parallel, the new tool floater endorsement expands protection for contractors’ equipment, including scheduled tools and theft coverage tied to jobsite conditions. The endorsement introduces clearer requirements around theft scenarios and applies coinsurance provisions tied to declared tool values.

Overall, the filing reflects a modernization of COUNTRY Mutual’s inland marine offering, combining updated forms with backend system changes designed to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
