Spinnaker has filed an average 15.8% rate increase for its Coterie businessowners program in Florida, which has 18,682 policies in force.
The revision adopts updated ISO property and general liability loss costs, along with changes to rating rules and coverage forms. The program is sold through Coterie’s online platform and covers non-residential businesses.
The filing also broadens eligibility for contractors by allowing subcontracted work to account for up to 50% of annual receipts, compared with ISO’s 10% threshold. New subcontractor documentation requirements and exclusions would apply depending on whether the business uses subcontractors.
Other changes include a mandatory space weather exclusion, delivery limitations under hired and non-owned auto liability coverage, and an exclusion for docks and similar structures. The existing business liability assault and battery exclusion becomes optional, with a 0.1% premium credit when selected. Terrorism coverage is included at no additional premium.
Florida regulators acknowledged the informational filing on October 14. Their acknowledgment lists effective dates of December 31, 2026, for new business and March 31, 2027, for renewals.
