Cincinnati Insurance has filed changes to its Texas businessowners program, introducing property coverage options, separate water damage deductibles and additional liability exclusions. Submitted October 1, the filing requests a June 15, 2027 effective date for new and renewal business.
Among the additions is an apartment property endorsement providing up to $10,000 per premises, per occurrence, to restore land needed to support covered buildings damaged by a covered loss. Other endorsements offer coverage for outdoor trees, shrubs and plants, and certain building-owner or condominium-association equipment.
The filing also introduces separate water damage deductibles, including an option applying a deductible to each affected unit, with a scheduled aggregate limiting the deductible at each location for a single occurrence.
New liability exclusion forms address wildfire, dogs, human trafficking, equine exposures and claims between named insureds. Additional forms exclude residential construction operations, subject to exceptions for service, repair, renovation or remodeling.
Cincinnati is also correcting a firearms exclusion it says was inadvertently broadened to apply to use or misuse by any person. The revised form narrows that scope to the insured or its contractors or hired security personnel.
The filing remained submitted to the state, with no approval recorded, as of October 2.
