Acuity, A Mutual Insurance Company, has filed for an 8% overall rate increase on its personal auto program in Kansas, affecting 9,173 policyholders and $21.5 million in premium.
The filing, submitted under prior approval, reflects coverage-level changes including a 19.6% increase for Bodily Injury, 10.8% for Property Damage, 11.5% for Collision, -0.5% for Comprehensive, and -4.5% for PIP. It also applies a one-time adjustment—11.3% to Collision and Comprehensive and 5.5% to Property Damage—to account for expected tariff impacts on losses occurring after April 1, 2025.
Although actuarial indications supported a 13.5% increase, management selected the smaller 8% adjustment to temper the impact. Acuity uses internet rating via its own platform, complemented by quote-based credibility testing that distinguishes between monoline and package business and between comparative rater versus internal sources.
The last revision in Kansas was a 4% increase effective June 23, 2025.
