Vault Reciprocal Exchange has filed a rules update for its Connecticut private passenger auto program, narrowing when high performance vehicle rating factors apply as the insurer deepens its use of ISO’s RAPA 2.0 symbol model.
The filing is a rules-only update with no rate data included and applies to both new and renewal business effective February 11, 2026. Vault said the change reflects improved symbol availability for high value and high performance vehicles following its transition to RAPA 2.0.
Under the revised Rule 311.4, Vault will apply high performance vehicle factors only when a vehicle lacks an available ISO symbol. If a symbol is available, the additional high performance factor will no longer be used. The definition of a high performance vehicle remains unchanged and continues to rely on a detailed list of makes and models, as well as horsepower and weight-to-power thresholds for vehicles not explicitly listed.
The same logic is being applied to engine type factors, which will now be used only when ISO symbols cannot be obtained. Vehicles that are newly released, low production, or otherwise not widely known will continue to be subject to underwriter review to determine whether high performance treatment is appropriate.
