SurSafe Enters Kansas with New Business Program

SurSafe Insurance Company is entering the Kansas market with the launch of its initial Businessowners (BOP) program, marking its first filing in the state. The insurer, formed as a successor to Cameron National Insurance Company, reports no prior premium or loss activity and currently has no policyholders under the program.

“SurSafe is a new insurance company, replacing Cameron National Insurance Company (CNIC) after the insurance company, CNIC, was bought out of receivership. SurSafe replaces CNIC, which is a registered company with Kansas until the final name change is completed.

SurSafe Insurance Company, file, for your review, our Businessowner insurance product for the state of Kansas. We base our BOP product upon ISO’s Businessowner rules, rates, and forms (circular LI-BP-2024-315) effective 07-01-2025 and the Kansas Loss Costs (circular LI-BP-2025-025) effective 10/01/2025.”

The filing, submitted June 24, 2025, establishes a foundational structure using ISO forms, rules, and loss costs, with a selected loss cost multiplier of 1.401. The effective date for both new and renewal business is October 1, 2025. While the filing includes rates, rules, and forms, SurSafe states there is no rate change since this is an inaugural submission.
