Stillwater has filed a rate and rule update for its Businessowners (BOP) program in Wisconsin, with changes effective January 26, 2026, for new business and April 1, 2026, for renewals.
The filing seeks an overall rate impact of 15.1%, compared with an actuarially indicated change of 22.7%. Stillwater estimates the update will affect 27 policyholders and increase written premium by roughly $6,300, bringing total program premium in the state to about $41,600.
The submission adopts updated ISO Businessowners rules and replaces prior Wisconsin-specific rate pages. Key rating mechanics include census block group level loss costs, tiering, lessor factors, and peril specific adjustments. A loss cost multiplier of 1.669 applies to most mandatory coverages, with hurricane peril excluded.
A 5% paid in full discount remains available for insureds that pay the full premium upfront.
