Pie Insurance has filed revised rates and rules for its standard workers’ compensation program in Georgia, seeking an overall 10.7% rate decrease for both new and renewal business effective March 1, 2026.
According to the filing, the proposed decrease reflects Pie’s limited credible Georgia-specific loss experience. The company began actively writing workers’ compensation policies in the state in mid-2023 and therefore relied on the NCCI-indicated loss cost change rather than developing an independent indication.
The rate action affects 1,908 in-force policies and is expected to reduce written premium by approximately $1.25 million, based on a current book of about $11.7 million in premium. Most policyholders are expected to see decreases, with more than half falling in the 5% to 10% reduction range. The maximum individual increase is capped at 6%, while the largest decrease reaches 26%.
