Markel is withdrawing its motorcycle and off-road vehicle insurance program from Hawaii following a review of its product portfolio.

The insurer said the program, which covers motorcycles and off-road vehicles as a single product, is no longer aligned with its long-term business objectives and target-market focus.

As of July 8, 2026, Markel had three policies in force under the program, representing $944 in written premium. The company plans to begin nonrenewing policies on November 1, 2026, with the runoff expected to conclude by November 1, 2027. Affected policyholders will receive at least 30 days’ notice.

Hawaii regulators approved the withdrawal on September 2.
