American Commerce Insurance Company, part of Mapfre, has filed a forms-only update in Connecticut for its PremierLiving homeowners program, introducing a new Special Provisions endorsement effective May 31, 2026 for both new and renewal business.
The new endorsement updates policy language to explicitly exclude virtual currency and cannabis from personal property coverage and related liability sections. The exclusions are adopted from recent ISO homeowners forms and are intended to clarify treatment of digital assets and controlled substances under the policy. The filing also revises assignment provisions to prohibit pre- and post-loss assignment of benefits without insurer consent.
Additional updates expand definitions of “you” and “your,” as well as the policy’s death provision, to include spouses and parties in civil unions recognized under Connecticut law. American Commerce indicates that a policyholder notice will be included in conditional renewal packages to communicate the changes, and the company has submitted a corresponding rules filing to reflect the addition of the new endorsement.
