Loya Files for Rate Decrease in Texas Auto Program

Loya Insurance Company, part of the Loya Insurance Group, has filed for an overall 1% rate decrease for its Personal Auto program in Texas. The filing, submitted on October 16, 2025, applies to 45,743 policyholders and represents a $1 million reduction in written premium from the program’s total of $103.9 million.

The company used Perr&Knight as a third-party consultant to prepare and submit the filing under the state’s File and Use process. No third-party modeling tools were referenced, and the filing was submitted through SERFF.

The last approved rate revision, effective July 28, 2025, was a 6.5% increase. The current filing’s indicated change is 13.4%, though Loya opted for a smaller decrease. The filing remains under review with the Texas Department of Insurance.
