Homesite Insurance Company is withdrawing its Dwelling Fire (DP-2) product in North Carolina. The program, brokered through AEGIS General Insurance Agency, has 36 policies and $22,039 in written premium.

Homesite plans to begin nonrenewing policies at the end of their terms on or after Jan. 1, 2027, and expects to complete the withdrawal by Jan. 1, 2028. The company said the decision does not affect its other products or lines of business in the state.

In its proposed notice to policyholders, Homesite describes the nonrenewal as “a business decision by the Company” that is “not intended to reflect negatively on your insurability.”

North Carolina acknowledged the withdrawal filing on Sept. 23.
