GM National Insurance Company, part of General Motors, has filed endorsements in six states allowing General Motors Insurance policyholders to receive promotional benefits and have third parties pay some or all of their auto insurance premiums.
The filings cover Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Potential premium sponsors include automakers, financing companies and dealerships.
Under the endorsements, premium assistance could be capped, leaving policyholders responsible for any remaining balance. If a policy is canceled during the promotional period or the customer becomes ineligible, unused assistance would return to the sponsoring third party.
Promotional benefits could include GM Rewards points, gift cards, memberships, merchandise, services and charitable donations made on a policyholder’s behalf. Eligibility and terms would vary by program.
The latest filing, submitted in Illinois on October 20, was marked filed on October 30, with a December 14, 2026 effective date for new and renewal business. The other five state filings were approved or accepted earlier this year.
The endorsements establish terms for potential programs rather than confirm specific offers. In its Illinois response to regulators, GM National said it had no active additional-benefit programs in the state and would file program details before offering one. It also said the endorsement would be attached to all policies at no cost, while participation would be optional.
