Peninsula Insurance Company, part of Donegal Insurance Group, filed in Virginia to add an annual policy option to its personal auto program, with a requested effective date of July 1, 2026 for both new and renewal business. The company says the change applies to its new business company, which currently writes only semiannual policies.

According to the filing memorandum, the update is meant to give agents and insureds an additional option they have requested, and Donegal says there is no rate impact from the change. The filing adds an annual term factor to the base rate page and updates several discount pages to account for annual policies.

The base rate page shows an annual term factor of 2.03 versus 1.00 for semiannual policies, while revised rating pages also introduce separate discount structures for annual business, including welcome, advance quote, and superior customer discount tables.
