Coterie Expands Kansas BOP Coverage

Everspan Insurance Company, through its partner Coterie, is updating its Businessowners Policy (BOP) in Kansas with three optional endorsements: workplace violence coverage, cyber liability, and employment practices liability (EPL). These endorsements are not bundled and can be added individually.

The workplace violence endorsement reimburses businesses for expenses tied to violent incidents on their premises, such as biohazard cleanup, crisis PR, mental health counseling, security services, and temporary relocation costs. The cyber endorsement covers both first- and third-party losses, including data breaches, media liability, privacy violations, regulatory fines, extortion, and funds transfer fraud, with $10,000 sublimits for PCI-related events, fraud, and extortion. The EPL endorsement protects against claims involving wrongful termination, harassment, and other employment-related issues, with additional provisions for extended reporting and Kansas-specific regulations.

These updates are part of Coterie’s ISO-based BOP program. No policies have been written yet under this filing, and there is no immediate rate impact. The filing was submitted on May 16, 2025, and formalizes Coterie’s previously approved coverage structure under Spinnaker.
