Concert Insurance has received approval from the Mississippi Department of Insurance for a new Residents Liability Insurance Program, effective June 3, 2026. The filing introduces a renters-focused liability product along with a suite of optional endorsements covering personal property, pet damage, bed bug remediation, biohazard cleanup, water backup, refrigerated property, and additional living expenses.
The program is structured as a group policy issued to property owners or managers, with individual certificates provided to residents. Coverage includes personal liability and medical payments for bodily injury or property damage occurring at the insured location. The policy also provides defense coverage for covered claims and lawsuits.
Among the optional coverages is a Limited Personal Property Coverage endorsement that provides protection for residents’ belongings against perils such as fire, theft, vandalism, windstorm, and water damage from certain sources. The endorsement includes coverage for personal property at the insured location and limited off-premises protection.
The filing was submitted on May 28, 2026, and approved on June 3, 2026. Because it represents a new program launch, the filing carries no rate impact and affects no existing policyholders.
During the review process, regulators requested revisions to cancellation and nonrenewal notice provisions. Concert updated its Mississippi amendatory endorsements to provide 45 days’ notice for cancellations, nonrenewals, and reductions in coverage for reasons other than nonpayment of premium, and 10 days’ notice for cancellations due to nonpayment. The changes were accepted, allowing the filing to move forward to approval.
