Clearcover Updates Florida Auto Program

Clearcover filed in Florida on September 5, 2025, to update its Private Passenger Auto program, effective October 5, 2025, for new business. The submission replaces earlier forms as part of the company’s rollout in the state.

Key revisions include updated definitions for Named Insured and Shared-Expense Carpool, clarified liability insuring agreement language, and corrected statutory references for rental/lease agreements and PIP legal actions. The filing also removes the requirement that insured-requested cancellations be in writing and specifies that lawsuits must be brought in the county where the covered vehicle is garaged.

The updates extend to uninsured motorist endorsements, PIP and UM selection forms, and the application process, which now supports electronic signatures. Duties after loss may include providing data from vehicle computers, safety features, video footage, or ride-sharing apps. Policies continue to exclude coverage for ride-sharing and personal vehicle sharing.

The filing was submitted under Florida’s prior-approval system, with Flesch scores ranging from 51 to 58 across the updated forms.
