Capacity Insurance Company introduced a new Commercial Property program in Texas under project CPIC-CP-TX-1702FW, a 2017 filing. The program establishes Capacity’s presence in the state’s commercial property market, though rate data was not included.
As part of the launch, certain older forms were withdrawn, including the Windstorm or Hail Percentage Deductible PAW form. Perr&Knight, acting as filing analyst, provided the Letter of Authority, with SERFF tracking numbers used to catalog supporting material.
The program falls under Commercial Property (Fire and Allied Lines). Many supporting documents were marked “not applicable,” and the filing did not disclose premium volume, policyholder counts, or prior rate activity.
The move marked a strategic step for Capacity—expanding into Texas commercial property—before its later, more troubled ventures in Florida.
