Builder Reciprocal Insurance Exchange is seeking approval to launch a homeowners insurance program in Maryland.

The new program, administered by Millennial Specialty Insurance, will offer HO3 coverage for homeowners and HO6 coverage for condominium owners. It will use a combination of ISO and proprietary forms, with optional coverage packages branded Gold, Homeowners Plus and Platinum.

Policyholders will also be required to make a surplus contribution equal to 10% of their annual homeowners premium. The contribution is separate from the insurance premium and may be returned after the policyholder leaves the reciprocal, subject to certain conditions and approval.

BRIE is targeting September 1, 2026, for new business.
