AmTrust subsidiaries—Security National, Technology Insurance, Wesco, and AmTrust Insurance Company—are updating their Businessowners programs in Montana to exclude cyber risks like malware, ransomware, and data extortion. The move reflects a shift toward offering such coverage through standalone cyber policies.
Key updates include the introduction of the Total Cyber Exclusion (BP-1058-CW), replacing the prior Cyber Incident Exclusion (BP-1042-CW), and new rules allowing limited coverage for ensuing losses, such as fire, under a separate endorsement (BP990079). Submitted and approved on July 21, 2025, the filings have no impact on premium or existing policyholders and involve no rate changes.
