American Integrity is making a notable change to its homeowners insurance offering in Florida by removing a long-standing limit on personal property coverage.
Previously, coverage for personal belongings—such as furniture, electronics, and clothing—was capped at 70% of the home’s insured value. With this update, that cap is being removed, giving policyholders more flexibility to insure their possessions at higher or more customized levels.
The change will take effect July 15, 2026 for new customers and August 15, 2026 for existing policyholders at renewal.
In simple terms, this means homeowners are no longer automatically restricted in how much coverage they can carry for their belongings relative to their home’s value. For example, someone with a $500,000 home was previously limited to $350,000 in personal property coverage. That restriction is now gone.
The update also includes a range of added protections and higher coverage limits in other areas. These include support services and reimbursement for identity theft, limited coverage for food spoilage due to power outages, and protection against water backup from drains or sump pumps.
Liability coverage—protection if someone is injured on your property—is also being increased, along with small increases to other standard benefits.
Overall, the update reflects a broader shift toward more flexible and customizable homeowners policies, giving customers more control over how their coverage is structured.
