Wysh Life and Health Insurance Company has updated a blanket life insurance product designed for credit unions and other deposit-taking institutions.
The coverage is offered to customers who hold eligible savings, deposit or credit accounts, with the financial institution paying the premium and customers receiving coverage at no out-of-pocket cost. Benefits can be calculated using account balances or monthly payments and automatically adjust as those amounts change.
The policy can also reward certain customer behaviors. Institutions may provide additional coverage for activities such as enrolling in direct deposit or making loan payments on time. Optional benefits include accidental death, critical illness and return-of-premium coverage.
In Wisconsin, Wysh’s updated forms replace versions approved in 2025 and may be used beginning February 20, 2026.
A separate Florida filing offers a look at the performance of Wysh’s individual accidental-death product. Wysh reported no Florida policies, premium or claims, despite receiving approval for the form in March 2024.
Nationwide enrollment has also declined. The product ended 2023 with 261 policies, compared with 152 in 2024 and 116 in 2025. It generated approximately $28,700 in annualized premium and recorded no claims from its 2022 launch through 2025.
Wysh requested a waiver from Florida’s annual actuarial review requirements because the small policy count and absence of claims make the experience statistically noncredible. The insurer is not requesting a rate change.
