Western Community Insurance Company has filed three new homeowners endorsements in Washington covering home cyber risks, home systems breakdowns and underground service lines.
The home cyber endorsement includes coverage for cyberattacks, cyber extortion, online fraud, data breaches, cyberbullying, identity recovery and home title fraud, depending on the sections purchased. It specifies a $500 cyber deductible and a separate $25,000 annual identity recovery limit with no deductible.
Home systems protection would cover equipment breakdown and certain electronic circuitry failures, with a maximum of $50,000 per occurrence. Equipment less than 15 years old qualifies for the higher limit, while older equipment generally carries a $3,000 limit per damaged unit.
Service line coverage would cover damage to eligible underground piping and wiring, along with excavation and related expenses. Limits generally range from $4,000 per damaged line for homes at least 50 years old to $10,000 for newer homes, with an exception for lines replaced within the past 50 years.
The forms carry Hartford Steam Boiler copyright notices and include loss prevention benefits following certain covered claims, such as water sensors, electrical monitoring and assistance toward an automatic water shutoff valve.
Submitted October 12, the filing requests a November 11, 2026 effective date for new and renewal business. It was pending review as of October 13.
