West Virginia National Auto Insurance Company has received approval for a 14.1% overall rate decrease for its RidgeRunner personal auto program in West Virginia.
The change affects 67 policyholders and is expected to reduce written premium by approximately $9,830, based on $69,550 in program premium. Individual policy decreases range from 8.1% to 23.8%.
West Virginia National Auto said RidgeRunner has experienced low production since policies first became available in June 2025 because its rates remained uncompetitive. The insurer previously implemented decreases of 12.7% in September 2025 and 20% in October 2025.
The latest revision reduces base rates for bodily injury, property damage, comprehensive, and collision coverage while expanding several discounts. The homeowners, renewal “buy-in,” and paid-in-full discounts increase from 5% to 10%, while the non-owner discount rises from 30% to 70%.
The company is also introducing a 15% in-house transfer discount and a 5% discount for qualifying drivers with foreign or international licenses. Its advance-issue discount will range from 5% to 15%, depending on how early a policy is purchased.
The maximum renewal discount increases from 20% to 24%, while the maximum total discount rises from 40% to 50%.
The changes became effective March 1, 2026, for new business and March 30, 2026, for renewals.
