Sutton National filed a new personal auto program in California with a requested effective date of October 1, 2026.
The filing was submitted through Perr&Knight on behalf of Sutton National and includes a full policy contract, declarations page, application, underwriting guidelines, rating examples, and multiple endorsements covering excluded drivers, business use, non owned vehicle coverage, deductible discounts, permissive use, and uninsured motorist coverage options.
The policy form includes several restrictive provisions. Collision coverage does not apply when a vehicle is operated by a driver not listed on the declarations page or by someone without a valid license. The policy also excludes OEM parts coverage, allowing Sutton National to use used, aftermarket, or generic replacement parts.
Additional exclusions target delivery and gig activity. The filing excludes liability and physical damage coverage for vehicles used to transport food, products, documents, flowers, or other items for compensation. Vehicles rented or used commercially are also excluded in various sections of the policy.
The policy further states that material misrepresentations, undisclosed drivers, or breaches of warranty can render coverage void, and requires all household drivers to be listed on the declarations page.
