State National, part of Markel, is launching a new insurance program in Florida focused on Medical Products, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), and Orthotics & Prosthetics (OP). The filing, submitted on June 11, 2025, introduces new rates and replaces any previous DME/OP filings effective January 1, 2026.
The program targets a broad range of businesses, including medical equipment dealers, manufacturers, sleep centers, and accessibility service providers. Rates are newly developed and vary by product type, business class, and coverage limits. The filing includes tiered pricing based on risk, optional prior acts coverage, and terrorism premium factors. While the company expects minimal premium disruption, actual impacts may differ by policyholder.
The rating model is based on Accelerant National Insurance Company’s program, and the filing was submitted by Martin & Company on behalf of State National.
A similar filing was submitted in Connecticut on June 17.
