State Farm Classic Insurance Company has updated its Classic+® program in Alabama, with new rules and rates effective October 1, 2025. The filing introduces several refinements to eligibility, coverage, and pricing for enthusiast vehicles, including collector motorcycles, motorsports cars, and highly modified autos. To qualify, policyholders must maintain a separate daily-use vehicle and use their classic car primarily for exhibitions, parades, and club events—not racing or timed competitions.
The update enhances the program’s endorsement lineup with features like Foreign Coverage, Vehicle Under Construction, Cherished Salvage®, and Motorsports Advantage™, which bundles protections such as spare parts, pit vehicle damage, and track-related medical benefits. The program also includes a Key On Exclusion endorsement for motorsports and pro-street vehicles with oversized engines or specialty fuel systems, limiting coverage to non-operational use.
Value-based pricing is determined using a detailed matrix of factors including driving history, storage method, vehicle type, modification status, and operator age. The program offers tiered coverage levels under a Value-Added endorsement, which includes extras like branded merchandise and trip interruption benefits. Notably, households transitioning to State Farm from another specialty insurer may qualify for Book Transfer Premium Stabilization to help smooth the rate adjustment over time.
