State Farm Fire and Casualty Company filed a new Rental Condominium Unitowners Application (RCU) and Binder in Iowa, introducing a digital process for agents via the State Farm intranet. Effective July 30, 2025, the update replaces a joint application used for both rental dwellings and condos. The filing reflects non-substantive edits, including removal of irrelevant questions and format alignment for the binder. No rate changes were made, and the $100 filing fee covers two forms.

“With the introduction of this new digital application, State Farm agents will be able to assist customers applying for Rental Condominium Unitowners insurance via the State Farm intranet. Based on information from the applicant(s), the agent will complete a number of screens. Upon completion of the digital application, the applicant will be provided a binder receipt. This application will be forwarded to our Underwriting department for processing. The information will be viewed, worked and routed on-line by the underwriter and service personnel.

The application data is stored as an image and serves as the policy record of the customer’s Rental Condominium Unitowners application. The document identified as EA RCUP IA is the format of the image to be retained as a record of the electronic Rental Condominium Unitowners application and serves as our records form. The information included is basically the same as the information obtained and retained when the agent was working with the paper application.”

State Farm also filed updates to its RCU Binder in Nebraska, effective July 30, 2025, aligning the form with the company’s new digital application process that enables agents to submit applications through the State Farm intranet.
