State Farm Classic Files North Carolina Collector-Car Program

State Farm Classic Insurance Company has filed to introduce State Farm Classic+ in North Carolina, a collector-vehicle auto program designed for car enthusiasts.

The proposed program is based primarily on Essentia Insurance Company’s existing North Carolina rates and rules, with adjustments. The filing was submitted by Hagerty’s product-filings team and is part of a group of filings covering forms, form enhancements, deviations, and a model.

State Farm Classic+ would offer optional coverage enhancements including higher spare-parts limits, custom-feature coverage up to $10,000 within the vehicle’s Guaranteed Value, limited trailer and paddock collision, and a vehicle-under-construction endorsement for restorations and new builds. That endorsement can provide a midterm increase in Guaranteed Value and coverage for automotive tools.

Other options include Cherished Salvage, allowing an insured to retain a total-loss vehicle’s salvage, and Motorsports Advantage, which adds coverage for items such as tools, safety equipment, track damage, pit-vehicle physical damage, and loss of use. Limited physical-damage coverage, accidental-death benefits, and medical payments would also be available for defined autocross and high-performance driver education events.

The program also includes three Value-Added coverage tiers. Collections of at least six vehicles valued at $250,000 or more—or any collection valued at $500,000 or more—would automatically receive the Premium tier at no additional charge.

State Farm Classic requested a November 1, 2026 effective date for the new program.
