Pharmacists Mutual withdrew a New York filing for a cyber insurance endorsement, saying it had decided to take a different direction on the coverage and would resubmit after further review.
The filing, submitted August 31, 2026, covered Pharmacists Insurance Company and Chiron Insurance Company. New York regulators closed it as withdrawn on November 2.
The proposed endorsement would add optional cyber coverage to businessowners policies, including privacy and security liability, breach response costs, digital asset losses, business interruption, cyber extortion and cybercrime.
The submission also included sexual misconduct and physical abuse exclusions for businessowners, dentists and veterinarians, along with changes to employment practices liability rules.
During review, the New York Department of Financial Services challenged a proposed charge of 200% of annual premium for a one-year employment practices liability extended reporting period. Regulators called the charge excessive and requested a reduction to below 100%, noting that the reporting period covers only incidents occurring before it begins.
