National Interstate Insurance Company is entering the Texas collector car market with the launch of the Open Road Classic Auto Program. Filed in 2024, the program targets car enthusiasts who drive their vehicles for pleasure use only.

The offering includes endorsements for spare parts, tools, vehicles under construction, trailers, car covers, and evacuation expenses. Optional coverages include waiver of subrogation and named driver policies. Commercial use, ridesharing, and racing are excluded, and daily-use vehicles must be covered under separate policies.

Open Road closely follows the structure of Essentia Insurance Company’s classic car program already approved in Texas.
