Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company of America and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance USA have filed in Texas to update the branding on their proprietary commercial insurance forms as part of a broader corporate rebranding initiative. The filing, submitted July 1, would take effect on April 1, 2027, if approved.

The filing replaces the companies’ existing logo with a new version across proprietary forms used for commercial auto, commercial property, inland marine, crime, general liability, umbrella, excess, directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, professional liability, and package policies. The logo will also become a variable field on the forms.
The insurers state that the changes are purely cosmetic and do not modify any policy language, coverage terms, conditions, insurer names, or writing company names. As a result, the filing is not expected to have any impact on policyholders.
