Metromile Insurance Company has introduced a new pet insurance program for cats and dogs in Indiana, effective September 17, 2025. The filing, approved July 15, 2025, includes new forms, rates, and rules (SERFF #not provided).

This is a fresh entry for Metromile, part of the Lemonade Inc. Group, which will now write all new pet insurance business in the state. Lemonade Insurance Company will continue to service existing policies but stop writing new ones.

The multi-pet discount increases from 5% to 10%. Actuarial indications show a -17.2% rate change for accident & illness, but Metromile selected a moderated -7% cut, anticipating a younger, higher-risk pet population.
