Lemonade’s pet insurance business in Wisconsin expanded significantly between 2023 and 2025, according to regulatory filings that show both policy count and premium nearly doubling over the period.
A filing submitted in September 2023 showed Lemonade had 3,720 affected policyholders and $1.65 million in written premium in Wisconsin. The filing sought a 23.7% overall rate increase and projected an additional $390,482 in premium.
By October 2025, the insurer’s Wisconsin pet book had grown to 5,767 policyholders and $3.17 million in written premium. The later filing sought a 13.4% overall rate increase and projected an additional $424,287 in premium.
The figures imply that Lemonade added approximately 2,047 policies in Wisconsin over two years, an increase of about 55%, while written premium rose by roughly $1.5 million, or about 92%.
The faster growth in premium than policy count suggests that average premium per policy has increased materially, reflecting a combination of prior rate actions, changes in business mix, and the maturing of Lemonade’s pet insurance portfolio in the state.
