Lemonade’s Arizona personal auto business has nearly doubled over the past year, according to recent regulatory filings, with written premium increasing from about $2.7 million to just over $5.1 million.
The growth follows a May 2025 filing in which Metromile Insurance Company, Lemonade’s auto insurer, implemented a 10% rate increase affecting approximately 2,335 policyholders and generating an estimated $273,788 in additional written premium. At the time, the Arizona book of business totaled about $2.74 million in written premium.
In its latest Arizona filing, submitted on June 26, 2026, Metromile reported written premium of approximately $5.12 million. The filing introduces a new Underwriting Segment Tier framework, including a new underwriting rule and factor table, while replacing portions of the rating algorithm and rule index. The company indicated the filing is rate neutral, with no premium impact on existing policyholders.
The latest filing reports an indicated rate change of -3.1%, but an overall rate impact of 0%, reflecting that the updates are intended to support underwriting segmentation rather than change customer premiums.
