Lemonade is expanding the underwriting appetite for its personal auto product in Illinois.
The insurer increased the maximum original MSRP of eligible vehicles from $100,000 to $120,000 and raised the vehicle-age cutoff from 20 to 25 years. It will also allow as many as six vehicles per policy, up from four.
The revised guidelines apply to new business beginning August 13 and renewals beginning September 12.
Lemonade continues to exclude several brands and models, including all vehicles from Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Maserati and Rolls-Royce, as well as Chevrolet Camaros, Dodge Chargers and Challengers, Ford Mustang GTs and all BMW 2-Series models. Vehicles used for rideshare or delivery remain eligible when approved and rated with the appropriate endorsement.
