Lemonade’s pet insurance business in Washington continued to expand in 2025, according to regulatory filings that show both policy count and premium increasing over a roughly 16-month period.
A filing approved in August 2024 showed Lemonade had 13,692 affected policyholders and $8.04 million in written premium in Washington. The filing sought an 8.1% overall rate increase and projected an additional $648,362 in premium.
By December 2025, the insurer’s Washington pet book had grown to 16,714 policyholders and $12.38 million in written premium. The later filing sought a 4.6% overall rate increase and projected an additional $573,346 in premium.
The figures imply that Lemonade added approximately 3,022 policies in Washington, an increase of about 22%, while written premium rose by nearly $4.35 million, or around 54%, over the period.
The combination of double-digit policy growth and even faster premium growth suggests that Washington remains a strong market for Lemonade’s pet business, with average premium per policy continuing to increase as the insurer pursues additional rate actions.
