Independent Mutual Fire Insurance Company has received approval to introduce a dwelling fire program in Tennessee.
The program offers basic DP-1 and special DP-3 coverage and is intended for new business. It will be distributed directly to consumers and through independent agencies.
Independent Mutual Fire based the program on rates, rules and forms previously approved for Tower Hill Prime Insurance Company. Available options include builders risk, earthquake, water backup, personal property replacement cost, extended replacement cost, theft and premises liability coverage. The program also accommodates seasonal or vacant properties, short-term rentals, unit owners and log buildings.
The insurer did not adopt Tower Hill’s equipment breakdown, identity fraud expense or service line coverages, or its association discount.
Tennessee approved the filing on May 27, 2026, with an effective date of June 1.
