Homeowners of America Updates Tennessee Homeowners Program

Homeowners of America Insurance Company, part of Porch Group, received approval to update its Tennessee homeowners program, with changes intended to rebalance pricing and revise coverage while keeping the overall rate impact at 0%. The filing was submitted on December 31, 2025, approved on February 2, 2026, and takes effect February 1, 2026, for new business and March 1, 2026, for renewals, impacting about 1,258 policyholders and $2.08 million in written premium.

The update expands and revises multiple discounts, including those for alarm systems, gated communities, smart home protection, claim free renewals, companion policies, new roofs, recent inspections, mortgage free homes, and other risk characteristics.

The company also adjusted rating tier factors, introduced new deductible options, revised equipment breakdown pricing, and updated the roof payment schedule so the endorsement is required only for roofs 15 years or older and optional for newer roofs. Base rates were increased 3.45% to offset these changes and keep the overall impact neutral.

A proposal to rename the policy fee as an MGA fee was withdrawn, keeping the existing terminology.

Individual policy impacts will vary, ranging from decreases of 12.3% to increases of 22.5%. The revisions follow a prior 21.6% rate increase that took effect in February 2025.
