Ford Pro Insure Seeks 48% Tennessee Rate Increase

The American Road Insurance Company is seeking an overall rate increase of 48.4% for its Ford Pro Insure commercial auto program in Tennessee.

The filing would affect two policies representing approximately $667,000 in direct written premium.

The Ford insurer plans to adopt updated ISO commercial auto rating data and revise its loss cost multipliers for liability, collision and comprehensive coverage. It is also proposing to eliminate driver-age factors from its rating plan.

The company selected a 5% adjustment above ISO loss costs to account for the program’s expected performance relative to the broader ISO market. It said the selection is near the lower end of the range observed among seven competing commercial auto programs, but represents a significant increase from its current factors.

The filing was submitted on July 30 and is pending regulatory review.
