Crum & Forster is exiting its pet insurance program in Georgia.
The company already transitioned the business to Independence American Insurance Company under a prior agreement. The book included 7,422 policies and about $4 million in written premium at the start of the transition.
United States Fire began nonrenewals in October 2023 and completed them by October 2024. Policyholders were offered continued coverage with the new underwriter.
The filing carries no rate impact since the program is no longer active. United States Fire will still handle claims tied to coverage periods before each policy’s nonrenewal date.
The program offered standard accident and illness coverage with flexible limits, deductibles, and reimbursement levels. Pricing relied on factors such as breed, age, and territory, with discounts capped at 20%.
This is a clean exit. The business has moved, customers have transitioned, and the filing closes the legacy rate structure.
