COPIC Insurance is seeking approval to introduce a medical professional liability program in Kansas for physicians, surgeons and advanced practice providers.

The claims-made program includes a proposed mature base rate of $8,569 for coverage with limits of $500,000 per claim and $1.5 million in the aggregate. Rates will vary by specialty, coverage limits and individual risk characteristics, with discounts available for factors including part-time practice, loss-free experience and deductibles.

The offering also includes options for excess liability, administrative medicine, moonlighting, compounded medications, cyber and breach-response coverage, and extended reporting periods.

COPIC submitted the filing on September 3 and is requesting an October 1, 2026, launch.
