Coalition Expands Cyber Program to Pennsylvania

Coalition Insurance Company has launched its Cyber Policy 3.0 for small and medium-sized businesses in Pennsylvania. Approved under SERFF Tracking Number COAL-133465647, the program introduces a robust set of coverage forms—over 60 endorsements—designed to address the evolving nature of cyber risk.

Filed in November 2022 and approved later that month, the submission reflects Coalition’s strategy to offer admitted cyber insurance coverage nationwide, with flexibility to tailor protection through a modular endorsement structure.

Key highlights include:

  • Coinsurance provisions for extortion demands and related expenses.

  • Contingent business interruption coverage for both IT and non-IT vendors.

  • Expanded definitions of insureds to include contractors, portfolio companies, and joint ventures.

  • Amendatory endorsements for specific jurisdictions, including Pennsylvania.

Coalition’s approach combines traditional insurance with its proprietary cybersecurity tools, aiming to proactively reduce risk for insureds while modernizing how cyber coverage is underwritten and delivered.
