American Modern filed changes to support the launch of a new Guidewire platform for its commercial physical damage program in California.

The implementation includes a new policy administration and billing system and a front-end portal for agents. American Modern is introducing a policy-change form that allows it to identify common transaction types and provide detailed descriptions of requested changes.

The insurer also plans to retire its existing policy-change form and several applications used for scheduled units, mobile home dealers, recreational vehicle dealers, horse trailers, collision and garagekeepers coverage.

The filing does not revise rates or underwriting guidelines. American Modern is targeting October 15, 2026, for new business and February 15, 2027, for renewals, although it said the system launch could be delayed.
