TruckerCloud has applied for a rating organization license in Georgia tied to its telematics-based commercial auto risk score.
The Atlanta-based company submitted the application on October 27, marking its first filing for this type of license in any state. The application remains pending.

TruckerCloud’s proprietary score draws on driving behavior, mileage, geographic exposure, crash signals, and vehicle utilization data. Insurers would use the score as an input to their own filed rating plans and underwriting guidelines for commercial auto and motor carrier risks.
According to the filing, TruckerCloud integrates with more than 180 electronic logging device and camera platforms and serves more than 80 insurers, insurance programs, MGAs, captives, and retailers. Its customers write business across trucking, construction, specialty hauling, and passenger transportation, among other segments.
The company reports a median of 38 days from contract execution to the first connected production fleet across insurance programs launched to date.
TruckerCloud was formed in August 2021 and is led by CEO Spencer Mitchell. Its application identifies former Octo Telematics and Willis Towers Watson executive Geoffrey Werner as a data consultant and strategic advisor supporting its risk score.
