Trexis Insurance Corporation has submitted an initial policy form filing for a new private passenger auto program in Texas, marking the launch of its Texas TIC product in the state.
The filing, submitted on December 23, 2025, seeks approval for both new and renewal business with a requested effective date of January 12, 2026. The program is written on the Texas Personal Auto Policy and includes a full suite of new and mandatory forms, including the application, declarations page, privacy statement, and multiple endorsements.
Key endorsements include a Temporary Vehicle Endorsement clarifying coverage for loaner vehicles provided by repair facilities, an Accidental Death Benefit Endorsement offering an optional supplemental death benefit tied to motor vehicle accidents, and a Personal Vehicle Sharing and Transportation Network Coverage Exclusion that removes coverage while a vehicle is used for ridesharing or car-sharing activities. The filing also introduces a Named Driver Exclusion, allowing policyholders to specifically exclude certain drivers from coverage.
According to the explanatory memorandum, the Texas program relies on a mix of Trexis proprietary forms and Texas-promulgated forms, including standard coverages for rental reimbursement, towing and labor, SR-22 filings, and supplementary death benefits. Several endorsements, including the rideshare exclusion and temporary vehicle endorsement, are mandatory under the program.
